Billund is the home of the Lego company, and a factory there manufactures around 90% of the Legos in the world. Legoland has been open since 1968. Besides visiting attractions in Denmark, the main source of entertainment is eating and drinking. Food in Denmark is very important and very tasty. Due to its location on the sea, Denmark is famous for its seafood like pickled herring and fired plaice. However, they also love meat, especially pork. The traditional Danish hot dog is cheap and great for a quick meal on the go.
Drinking usually accompanies most meals in Denmark. Beer, aquavit and schnapps are the beverages of choice.
